CONSCIOUS CREATIVITY is a 6 week online course designed to help you consciously develop your creative process in a type of online art class which draws it's practice from my recently published book 'Conscious Creativity'.

Over the 6 weeks there will be homework and creative tasks which encourage you to experiment and experience ways of working and looking which may, at first, feel out of your comfort zone but which will allow you to become more open to different inspirations.

I want the course to feel very personal so I demonstrate for an hour, Live, each week through a private group. If the course group has multiple time zones, I will probably demonstrate twice a day so everyone feels able to participate in 'real' time. I will try to answer any questions which may arise during the Live sessions and I will give you weekly personalised feedback where I asses any work you've done, talk about your progress, pin point areas of improvement and help you to identify possible habits and strategies. Included in the course price is one 30 minute personal Q and A with me, available to book in after Week 3, and to fit in with your time zone.

The course will have a very limited number of places so that I can maintain high personal input.

I will be working primarily with my iphone; creating work through photographs, but if you prefer to work with paper, pencils and paint, for example, that is perfectly ok. However I will encourage you to create a photographic document of your process and work throughout the course as it's a good way to share and receive feedback, even if it's nerve wracking. Some previous students have really enjoyed setting up a specific Instagram accounts for the course as it removes any worries about posting 'good' images, and works more like a sketchbook.

The course is to help you identify how you can develop your daily practice; it's meant to inspire that creative impetus rather than tell you exactly how to do it. It's about feeling empowered to do your own thing; follow your own path and take away the pressure of having popular or 'clickable' content. By the end of the course I would hope that you feel more confident and excited about your own ways of seeing and have a much firmer creative starting point. I will also actively encourage you to start personal projects as they always serve as a spark and an anchor for much more work to come.

I will e-mail you a detailed plan of the course topics which will include colour, texture and wabi sabi, shadows and the senses, a week before the course begins, and then each week's topic and homework will be emailed as a pdf the day before the class. There will also be a weekly film to inspire and help you with your topic. I will invite you to the group's private Pinterest board of inspiration and we can share course related work using a hashtag.

Before the course begins I will provide you with a list of useful editing apps which I personally use, and each week I will suggest inspirational Instagram accounts, artists, books and films which you may find interesting, helpful and relevant for the week's topic.
